New version of ViscLab released

ViscLab 2.18.0 for Viscomat II has now been released. This is the 12:th upgrade of ViscLab since the software was redesigned from support for Viscomat 32020 into working with Viscomat II.

The new version includes more than 35 improvements, including:

  • Possibility to restore samples from the archive and tools for handling large amounts of data in the archive
  • Display of [η]ρ with alarms according to ISO 5351 and target weight in edit window
  • Keyboard shorts in main window to speed up the workflow

This version is available for download.

The next version of ViscLab will include:

  • New implementation of Martin’s formula for calculating the intrinsic viscosity and [η]ρ
  • Separate customizable alarm limits for relative viscosity when the viscosity is > 1100
  • Improved functionality for backup and service

This version is currently being tested and is planned for release in March.

Beyond these two versions, we are working with implementation of e.g.:

  • Customizable alarm limits for individual Sample ID’s
  • Statistics for replicate Sample ID’s and sample names
  • Tool to calculate the CED factor
  • Export of any data table to Excel
  • Further simplifications of the user interface
  • Custom folders for backups and reports

SPCI 2011 a success

We would like to thank everybody who visited our stand at SPCI 2011 and made the fair a great success for us! It was a pleasure to meet you all!

The interest for Viscomat II was very high and our stand was frequently visited during the whole fair. Viscomat II is a product for automatic determination of pulp viscosity and designed to be fully compatible to the ISO 5351 standard.

Visit us at SPCI

Welcome to visit us at SPCI 2011, 17-19 maj, 2011 in Stockholm, Sweden!

The SPCI World Pulp & Paper Week is the world’s largest exhibition for the pulp & paper industry. Held in Stockholm, Sweden, since 1969, the SPCI exhibition is today the industry’s most important event.

Please visit us in booth A21:20 just at The Magic Future Square in the middle of the main hall. We are part of the Åkroken Science Park company network.

We will show the new design of Viscomat II – our semiautomatic system for efficient and reliable determination of pulp viscosity.

Please register for the fair and learn more on http://www.spcievent.com/.

Lagge acquires Viscomat

Lagge Control AB has acquired the production rights for Viscomat 32020, which is a semi-automated system for determination of pulp viscosity from BerTech (Berge Technolgy AB). The system was initially developed by SCA. More than 70 systems have been sold since the system was introduced 1986, whereof 25 systems in Sweden.

Viscosity is an important property of pulp in many applications and it is often very critical to get a reliable determination.

The basic principle is that a pulp sample is dissolved in a solution of cupriethylenediamine (CED) and then passed through a capillary tube viscometer measuring the efflux time. The measurement and subsequent calculation of viscosity is automatic. The system implements the official SCAN 15:99, ISO 5351 and TAPPI 230 test methods.
